Camarines Sur anti-drug stings: 1 suspect dies, 3 others fall

LEGAZPI CITY — A suspected drug pusher was killed while three others were arrested in separate operations in Camarines Sur on Monday, police report said Tuesday.

Police Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said when suspect Don Gumba noticed the arresting team, he took his gun inside his house and fired at the arresting officers in Barangay (village) Lerma in Naga City at around 11:25 p.m.

The anti-narcotics operatives retaliated and hit Gumba, killing him instantly.

Recovered was a sachet of shabu (crystal meth) worth P1500.

At around 7:20 p.m., Rodolfo Pascual, 40, was arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in the same village.

Bongon said Pascual sold a sachet of shabu worth P500 to an undercover police.

In Baao town, Alexander Jardinel, 40, and Freddie Beldad, 46, were also arrested in a search operation in Barangay La Medalla at around 2 p.m.

Police Colonel Bernardo Perez, Camarines Sur police chief, said Jardinel, who was in the illegal drugs watch list, was the subject of operation.

At least 15 sachets or eight grams of shabu worth P40,000 and other drug tools were recovered.
