Former state university president found dead in Northern Samar

CATARMAN, Northern Samar — A former university president here was found dead inside his own home in Barangay Dalakit, Catarman town, Northern Samar.

The body of Rolando Delorino, 64, bore multiple stab wounds when found by his daughter near the kitchen door on the ground floor of their three-story house about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 13.


Colonel Arnel Apud, provincial director of the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office, said that investigators were looking at the footage of the closed circuit television cameras near the crime scene to help identify the perpetrators.

Delorino was the 6th president of the University of Eastern Philippines, a state university in Catarman that offers the largest undergraduate and graduate courses in Eastern Visayas. The victim served as president from 2016 to 2019.
