LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle back-rider died and another rider injured in an accident along the Maharlika Highway in Sto. Tomas, Batangas before midnight on Friday.
The Sto. Tomas police reported that Bryan Estocado, 33, was aboard a motorcycle, driven by Elmer Bernales, when the vehicle rear-ended a truck in Barangay San Rafael around 10:55 p.m.
Estocado died on the way to the hospital while Bernales is still undergoing treatment.
The report did not state whether or not the motorcycle riders were wearing crash helmets.
Police said the truck driver sped off after the incident.
