MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested for allegedly selling unauthorized stickers of the presidential seal and other emblems of government agencies, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) reported on Thursday.
The NBI-Special Task Force identified the suspect as Leon Cruz III, who was arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Bambang in Taguig City on June 4.
Authorities said that Cruz is selling emblems of the Malacañang’s presidential seal, Bureau of Customs, and Philippine Coast Guard among others, in an online selling platform.
Recovered from Cruz’s possession are two parcels containing five seals of the Office of the President of the Philippines stickers and 24 NBI stickers.
The NBI said Cruz is set to face charges in violation of Executive Order No. 141, s. 1999 or the Prohibition against the Forgery and unauthorized use of the seal of the President of the Philippines.
