1,214 Capas residents fully vaccinated vs COVID-19
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Some 1,214 residents of Capas town in Tarlac province have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the municipal government announced Wednesday, June 9.
The municipal government said the fully vaccinated individuals include 671 frontline health workers under the A1 priority group and 543 elderly under the A2 priority group, who received either Sinovac CoronaVac or Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines.
As of June 8, the municipal government said 4,015 residents comprising 823 health workers, 1,320 older residents, and 1,872 persons with comorbidities under the A3 category have received the first dose of the vaccines.
Waltermart Mall-Capas has designated an area on the ground floor for the vaccination of the town’s residents.
Next to Tarlac City, Capas has the second-highest number of COVID-19 cases in Tarlac province.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of June 9, the town has a total of 1,237 cases, of which 143 are still active. It registered 1,068 recoveries and 26 deaths.
Article continues after this advertisementBarangay Sta. Lucia has the highest COVID-19 cases at 363, followed by Cristo Rey at 151 and Talaga at 132.
Barangay Sto. Rosario has the most fatalities at six, followed by Cristo Rey at five, and Cutcut I village at three.
