MANILA, Philippines — Another 95 COVID-19 patients have died, according to the health department’s latest data, raising the nationwide toll to 22,064 as of Tuesday, June 8.
The Department of Health (DOH), however, said that the total casualties are only 1.72 percent of the whole 1.28 million new coronavirus infections across the country.
It also said that active cases are now at 56,452 and that 1.7 percent of these are severe cases while 1.3 percent are critical as the rest are mild, asymptomatic, or moderate cases.
The DOH has reported a total of 1,053 deaths from June 2-8, and 995 deaths from May 26 to June 1 – or an average of 150 deaths and 142 deaths recorded per day during the respective periods.
