“Ito po ay para maayos ang pag-iimplement ng IATF [This is to organize the implementation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases] arrival protocols sa Cebu,” he added.

The order to divert flights to Naia was earlier imposed after Cebu implemented its own testing protocols on passengers arriving from abroad where returning Filipinos undergo COVID-19 testing upon arrival.

But according to IATF protocols, returning Filipinos should be tested seven days after their arrival in the country and undergo facility-based quarantine for 10 days.
