Man wanted for rape charges nabbed in Catanduanes

LEGAZPI CITY –– A wanted person facing multiple counts of rape complaints was arrested Monday in San Andres town in Catanduanes province, a police report said.

Armed with a warrant of arrest, police from neighboring Caramoran town at 6:50 a.m. nabbed Resty Dellava, 40, at his house in Barangay Belmonte, said Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.

Calubaquib said the suspect was Caramoran’s top wanted person. He had been in hiding in San Andres since 2011.

Dellava is facing 18 counts of rape complaints with no bail recommended at the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 42 in Virac town under presiding judge Genie Gapas-Agbada.

The suspect is under police custody and would be brought to the RTC branch in Virac for disposition.
