A drug suspect from the United Kingdom was caught after he hid in a police station, in his failed attempt to outrun the officers.
Police from Thames Valley, London stated that they came in contact with the 25-year-old male suspect (name withheld) after an earlier pursuit, as per their Facebook page on Thursday, June 3. The man allegedly got off the car he was driving and went to the nearest building to get away from them.
“We were concerned when a man stopped the car he was driving and ran away from us towards the nearest building to hide,” officers said. “Fortunately for us, the nearest building was Aylesbury police station!”
Authorities added that they also noticed “a large number of very small items” thrown out of the building, into the station’s parking lot. The station had to be closed briefly for officers to recover all items thrown out.
Police did not specify what items were recovered, though they noted that they will send out the evidence for testing. Meanwhile, the man who was caught hiding in the building was arrested on suspicion of being involved with drugs and is currently being held in custody.
“The police station is open again to the public… and to anyone else who may be looking to hide from the police,” the officers stated. JB
