P2.4M marijuana seized from 2 Tarlac City suspects

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents arrested two suspected drug traders and confiscated some P2.4 million worth of marijuana in Tarlac City Sunday.

In a statement, PDEA-Central Luzon director Christian Frivaldo said the operation by the agency’s operatives in Tarlac resulted in the arrest of Julius Castro, 24, and John David Tapar, 28, both residents of Tarlac City.

Frivaldo said the suspects were caught selling marijuana to an undercover agent.

At least 20 bricks of suspected marijuana weighing 20 kilos were confiscated from the suspects.

The suspects’ mobile phone and vehicle were also seized.

They would face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
