Over 89,000 Batangas folk vaccinated vs. COVID-19

LUCENA CITY – A total of 89,915 Batangas residents have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of May 31. 

The Batangas Public Information Office (PIO), quoting information from Dr. Rosvilinda Ozaeta, provincial health officer, reported that 22,061 individuals have been vaccinated in private hospitals, 63,481 in rural health units and 4,373 in district hospitals.

The provincial government has already received 65,560 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 106,934 doses of the Cornavac vaccine from China’s Sinovac

The vaccines were administered to health workers (A1), senior citizens (A2) and persons with comorbidities (A3).

As of June 5, Batangas, which still under the general community quarantine (GCQ) status until June 30, logged 30,489 COVID-19 cases, including 2,255 active cases, 27,172 recoveries and 1,062 deaths.
