PH’s COVID-19 death toll now at 21,732; DOH logs 195 new deaths

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 21,732 as the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 195 new deaths on Saturday.

The total number of deaths represents 1.72% of the 1.25 million total confirmed cases in the country, the DOH said in its daily case bulletin.

Of the confirmed cases, 59,543 are active cases, 1.7% of which are severe cases while 1.3% are in critical condition.

The DOH also reported 1,180,998 recoveries, including an additional 8,109 new patients who have recovered from the disease.

According to the DOH, 19 duplicates were removed from the total case count, including 15 recoveries.

Meanwhile, 102 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
