BOY DROWNS IN TOLEDO POND

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy drowned while swimming in an excavated pit  in barangay Ilihan, Toledo City, midwestern Cebu.

Police said the boy was with his younger brother and some friends when the accident occurred last Friday afternoon.

A commotion followed when  the boy disappeared while they were swimming.

He was  later found submerged in the water.

The boy was rushed to the hospital but did not make it alive.

MAN STABBED IN MANDAUE

A 30-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed and wounded while walking home in barangay Lo-oc, Mandaue City. early morning yesterday.

Rogelyn Lumapas was  walking in an alley when he was stabbed in the stomach.

Police said the man was headed home around 5 a.m. after attending a vigil wake.

The victim was unable to  identify the assailant because he was intoxicated.

Neighbors found Lumapas slumped on the ground and rushed him to the Mandaue City Hospital.

On the way  to the hospital, the victim mentioned the name of  Ronan Secuya.

Secuya was later invited by police for questioning.

He denied involvement in the stabbing, saying he was driving a tricycle when the attack occurred.
