Robredo: I’m still open to running for President
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday reiterated that she remains “open” to be a candidate for the presidency as she has yet to decide about whether to seek the gubernatorial post in Camarines Sur for the 2022 national and local elections.
Robredo even implied that she has been carefully considering many factors, but assured that a decision would be reached and announced “at the right time.”
The Vice President made the remark amid fresh reports on her possible gubernatorial run next year.
“Sa gitna ng maraming haka-haka, uulitin ko lang ang ilang beses ko na ring sinabi: Wala pang desisyon na ako’y tatakbong gobernador. Nananatili akong bukas na maging kandidato sa pagka Pangulo,” Robredo said in a Facebook post.
(In the middle of many speculations, I will just reiterate what I have said many times: There is no decision yet that I will run for governor. I am still open to be a candidate for President.)

In February, Robredo said that she is open to the possibility of running for president in the 2022 elections, but underscored that she prefers to run for local office.
