Ex-inmate in Ecija tries to flee assailants, finished off as he alighted motorcycle

JAEN, Nueva Ecija—A former detainee was shot and killed by two unidentified assailants here on Wednesday (June 2), police said.
The fatality was identified as Jose Bongcayao, 42, a resident of Barangay Magsalisi here.

Police said Bongcayao was driving a motorcycle with his two siblings as passengers when shot by the masked suspects.

Bongcayao stopped and ran on foot but was chased and repeatedly shot by one of the assailants.
Bongcayao died from gunshot wounds while his siblings were left unhurt.
