MANILA, Philippines — Forty-six more COVID-19 patients in the country have died, bringing the number of fatalities related to respiratory disease to 21,012 as of Tuesday.
The latest case bulletin from the DOH showed that deaths compose 1.70 percent of the 1,235,467 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
Of the total, there are 53,203 people who still have active infections, including 1.8 percent that have severe cases and 1.4 percent that are critical.
Based on previous case bulletins from the DOH, there were a total of 995 deaths reported from the previous seven days, or from May 26 to June 1, posting an average of 142 deaths daily.
Meanwhile, there were 708 deaths announced by the DOH from May 19 to 25, or an average of 101 deaths per day.
Tuesday’s case bulletin from the DOH stated that 15 cases initially tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
