A woman who drove through a COVID-19 vaccination site in Tennessee, USA, to protest against vaccines has been arrested.
Virginia Christine Lewis Brown allegedly drove through a vaccination tent “at a high rate of speed” on May 24, Blount County Sheriff’s Office reported via Facebook on May 27.
Brown has since been charged with seven counts of felony reckless endangerment for her actions that placed the lives of seven workers in danger.
“Two Blount County Sheriff’s deputies who were working at the site witnessed Ms. Brown speed through the coned section and through the enclosed vaccine tent in a Chrysler Pacifica,” the sheriff’s office disclosed.
“The deputies reported that Ms. Brown did not stop at the check-in area at the entrance of the tent but continued through the tent at a high rate of speed, then exited the tent and out of the parking lot. Several personnel, who represent the Blount County Health Department and the Tennessee National Guard, ran out of the tent and toward the deputy’s vehicles,” it added.
Brown yelled “No vaccine!” as she drove through the tent, witnesses and staff recalled. A deputy then followed Brown and conducted a traffic stop.
On why she drove through the tent, Brown told the deputy that she was protesting against the vaccine. She was then arrested and taken to the Blount County Correctional Facility without incident.
She has since been released, however, on a $21,000 bond and is set to appear in a hearing on June 7, according to authorities.
