Cops hunting down farmer who shot dead a pastor

KORONADAL CITY –– Police are hunting down Monday a farmer who shot dead a Christian pastor in Lake Sebu town, South Cotabato.
Major Jose Pedroza, Lake Sebu town police chief, said Narlito Tunggay, 31, a pastor of the Community Bible Church, was conducting a bible service in the house of his brother in Barangay Tasiman when a man arrived and shot the victim using a 12-gauge shotgun.
Tunggay, who was sitting near the window, suffered injuries in the head and body and died instantly, Pedroza said.
Pedroza identified the suspect as Joel Cayugan, 31, a resident of the same village, who remained at large as of this reporting.
Based on initial investigation, according to Pedroza, a land dispute may have led to Tunggay’s murder, although they are also still exploring other possible motives.
