Davao Sur fish vendor slain inside public market
DIGOS CITY –– A fish vendor in Sta. Cruz town in Davao del Sur was shot to death Monday afternoon (May 31) by a still unidentified assailant inside the public market.
Major Crisaldo Gaila, Sta. Cruz police chief, said a certain Ramil Odog Tig-Adlao, 42, was tending to his fish stall when a man approached him, fired a gun three times, and fled.
The victim died on the spot while the gunman walked towards a motorcycle with a companion waiting near the crime scene, the police said. They drove towards the direction of Digos City.
Citing witnesses’ accounts, Gaila said the gunman arrived in the public market around 2 p.m. aboard the same motorcycle and companion.
The witnesses further disclosed that the gunman was wearing a black-striped grey shirt, while the motorcycle driver wore a yellow shirt.
Investigators found three fired cartridge casings and a slug of a still undisclosed gun.
