Cebu City mayor hospitalized due to ‘slight pneumonia’
CEBU CITY — Mayor Edgardo Labella of this city on Monday confirmed that he is currently confined at a hospital because of “slight pneumonia.”
“In the spirit of transparency, I would like to inform everyone that during the weekend, I had a fever and was admitted to a hospital. After consultations and a series of tests, they found out that I have slight pneumonia,” he said in a post on Facebook.
“I am due for discharge today but my doctor advised me to take time to rest,” he added.
It was not clear though if pneumonia of the mayor was COVID-19 related.
The 70-year-old mayor said he will be on medical leave for three days.
