MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– Policemen in Central Luzon confiscated some P2.38 million worth of crystal meth or “shabu” and 99 firearms during the simultaneous anti-criminal operations Friday, May 28.
The Police Regional Office 3 public information office said the region-wide “Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO)” also resulted in the arrests of 628 persons. Of these, 32 belong to the most wanted lists, 194 had standing warrants of arrest, 188 were nabbed in anti-illegal drugs operations, and 214 for violation of local ordinances.
The seized illegal drugs include 739 sachets of suspected “shabu” weighing 355 grams and 1.15 kilos of marijuana.
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, regional police office director, said the SACLEO was part of the directive of national police chief Gen. GuillermoEleazar to intensify the campaign against lawless elements in communities nationwide.
