CITY OF CALAPAN – The district hospital in Lubang island has been placed on lockdown starting Saturday until June 11, the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force – Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (RIATF – Mimaropa) said Sunday.

Occidental Mindoro Governor Eduardo Gadiano made the request for the hospital to be put under lockdown due to “two confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases [who interacted] with 49 employees of the hospital, including doctors and nurses who were identified as close contacts.”

“All health services of the hospital except on extreme emergency cases are closed,” said Gadiano in a notice to the public on Sunday.
