MANILA, Philippines — Antipolo City 2nd District Rep. Resurreccion Acop passed away after suffering from COVID-19 complications, her husband said Friday. She was 73.

The late solon’s husband, former Rep. Romeo Acop, said he and his wife both contracted COVID-19 last April 8. His wife, according to him, had to be intubated for 21 days.

“So from there, nilipat siya sa regular ICU (intensive care unit) treating all the complications because of COVID. Initially ‘yung lungs niya may bacterial pneumonia kung tawagin nila. And then nagkaroon siya ng some blood clotting,” Acop said in a phone interview.
