Davao Oriental gov contracts coronavirus
DAVAO CITY –– Davao Oriental Gov. Nelson L. Dayanghirang has admitted to having contracted COVID-9, along with his wife.
In a social media post, Dayanghirang said both of them got infected with the disease based on their test results that came out May 24.
He said he and his wife started to feel mild fever on May 19, prompting them to start quarantine and submitting themselves to testing four days later.
Despite the illness, Dayanghirang, 55, said there is nothing to worry about as they felt only mild fever.
He urged those who got in contact with him in the last several days to immediately be on self-quarantine and inform local health authorities.
Article continues after this advertisementDr. Reden Bersaldo, head of the provincial inter-agency task force on COVID-19, said they have also begun contact tracing among the individuals exposed to Dayanghirang.
