President’s sister turns over new classrooms in Cebu
Presidential sister Pinky Aquino-Abellada said it was important to focus on education to establish a strong foundation for Filipino children.
Abellada led the turnover of school buildings in barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, yesterday.
Abellada, one of the proponents of Aklat Gabay at Pag-alaga (AGAP) Foundation which was established in 2010, advocates the provision of decent classrooms for students.
She said the foundation plans to donate 1,000 more schools all over the country by 2016.
This year, Abellada said they already donated around 280 buildings, each with two classrooms and a comfort room.
By July this year, she said 20 more classrooms, costing at least P700,000 to P1 million, will be built.

Teachers welcomed Abellada in the Eco-tech center in barangay Lahug.
“I’m so grateful that we reached this far. The Filipinos have been very good to Noynoy. It’s the least we can do in finding a way to give back,” Abellada said.
