Aboitiz Football Cup resumes

SISTER TEAMS from the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) will try to outsmart each other today in the men’s under-19 competition of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku Mandaue.

Matches in the other age-group categories will be moved to give way for teams competing in the 9th Thirsty Cup (see separate story).

SHS-AdC A will try to post its first win in the tournament at the expense of its sister team SHS-AdC C.

Both teams played two matches so far with SHS-AdC A managing to draw one of its matches while losing the other one.

FEATURED STORIES

SHS-AdC C, on the other hand, won one and lost one.

SHS-AdC C is currently at third place in bracket B with three points while SHS-AdC A trails at fourth with a point.

Other men’s U19 matches will have Blessed John going up against Cebu International School (CIS) while the Mandaue Technical Institute (MTI) faces bracket A leader University of San Carlos (USC).

USC has six points after having won all of its matches so far while MTI is at fourth place with no wins yet.

CIS hopes to nail its second win and overtake idle Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy at second place while Blessed John hopes to crawl out of the cellar. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
