Over 2,700 residents in Subic get COVID-19 jabs

SUBIC, Zambales –– At least 2,741 residents in this town have been vaccinated against COVID-19, local data showed.

In the May 20 report of the municipal health office, these vaccine recipients belong to the priority sectors that include health workers, senior citizens, and those with comorbidities.

The local government began its COVID-19 vaccine in March using its allocation of CoronaVac and AstraZeneca given by the national government.

CoronaVac is made by Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac, while AstraZeneca is from the COVAX facility of the World Health Organization.

Of the figure, 810 are health workers, while 1,080 are senior citizens. The remaining 851 are those with comorbidities.

About 400 of these vaccine recipients have received their second doses.

Subic has a population of 104,771 based on the 2015 census.
