MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar on Monday said they “have already identified at least one person” allegedly involved in the sale of vaccination slots and that investigation is ongoing.

According to Eleazar, the individual claims to have connections in the local governments of San Juan City and Mandaluyong City.

“Based on the initial result of the investigation, we have already identified at least one person who offered his high school friend two brands of vaccines for a price ranging from P12,000 to P15,500 through a social media messaging app,” Eleazar said in a statement.

“The same person has been claiming that he has contacts in San Juan and Mandaluyong LGUs, the reason why he could easily get vaccines and even guarantee slots for the vaccination; and even presented deposit slips as proof of his previous ‘transactions’,” he added.

Eleazar said the PNP is “zeroing in” on the individual, who has since deactivated all his social media accounts.

“We assure the public that he will face the full force of the law for this kind of illegal activity,” the PNP chief said.

He then encouraged the public to report to authorities via PNP’s e-sumbong any information they have regarding the sale of COVID-19 vaccines or vaccination slots in the local government’s inoculation drive and assured of “quick response” to their notice.

E-sumbong may be reached through hotlines 0919-160-1752 (Smart) and  0917-847-5757 (Globe); e-mail address [email protected]; Facebook at facebook.com/OfficialPNPhotline; and web portal https://e-sumbong.pnp.gov.ph.
