COVID-19 testing by Red Cross breaches 3 million mark
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) exceeded the 3 million mark in COVID-19 testing on Sunday, three months after it hit the 2 million milestone in February.
“We at the Red Cross continue to remain diligent against this invisible enemy, by testing 24 percent of the country’s nationwide output and even accounting for 40 percent of total tests conducted during the recent surge,” said Sen. Richard Gordon, chair and chief executive officer of the PRC.
Data from the PRC show that it had conducted 3,010,432 swab tests as of Sunday since it began testing on April 14 last year.
