Man threatens to jump off electrical post in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines—After almost two hours of negotiation, authorities have rescued a man who threatened to jump off an electrical post in Navotas City Friday.

Police Officer 2 Michael Garcia said that truck driver Jeffrey Bonifacio Garcia, 35, was rescued around 5:20 p.m. after he climbed up an electrical post along Block 2 Garcia Street, Barangay (village) Daang Hari, Navotas around 3:40 p.m. for still unknown reason.

He said that police have yet to identify what urged him to do such, as he appeared to be not in a proper state of mind.

“Hindi pa makausap kasi parang may tama s’ya,” he said, pertaining to the effect of using illegal drugs.
