Bicol’s 7th most wanted person slain in Camarines Sur

Suspect killed, cop hurt in Manila shootout

LEGAZPI CITY –– A suspected member of a gun-for-hire group, and one of the most wanted persons in the Bicol region, was killed in a police operation in Bato, Camarines Sur Thursday.

Col. Bernardo Perez, Camarines Sur police director, reported that Rico Gerobin, the seventh most wanted person in the region, was about to be arrested for murder and attempted murder charges at 5:15 a.m. in Barangay Buluang when he fired at the police and tried to escape.

The police retaliated and hit Gerobin, causing his instant death, the report said.

Recovered from Gerobin’s body was a caliber .38 revolver with five bullets.
