Man with unlicensed firearm nabbed at checkpoint in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga- Police manning a checkpoint in Barangay Sto. Rosario here arrested a man after a loaded firearm was allegedly found inside his motorcycle’s compartment on Monday (May 17) evening.

In her report, Lt. Col. Karen Clark, commander of the Angeles City Police’s Mobile Force, identified the suspect as Ryan Leonel Lopez Pamintuan, a resident of Barangay Amsic here.

When the suspect was asked to show his motorcycle’s registration documents, he opened the compartment, but policemen saw a shiny object.

Investigators found the object to be a chrome Commander Firestorm .45-caliber pistol with live bullets.

Pamintuan was accosted for failing to show a license to own and carry a firearm.

He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
