Still hot, humid in Luzon; Palawan, VisMin may have isolated rains - Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Hot and humid weather would still prevail in Luzon on Thursday, while isolated rainfall and thunderstorms may hit Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau reported.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its Wednesday afternoon bulletin, said easterlies cause Luzon’s high temperature, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) lingers in the southern sections of the country.

Pagasa also noted that there are no low-pressure areas in the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next three to five days.

In Luzon, the weather is projected to stay hot and humid, with Metro Manila expected to have temperatures ranging from 27 to 36 degrees Celsius; Tagaytay City at 22 to 32 degrees Celcius; Baguio City at 17 to 27 degrees Celsius; Laoag City at 26 to 34 degrees Celcius; Legazpi City at 26 to 33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City at 26 to 38 degrees Celsius; while Puerto Princesa City, with 26 to 31 degrees Celsius, are expected to experience isolated rains.

Also forecast to have isolated showers and thunderstorms are Visayas and Mindanao.

Visayas provinces Cebu has a temperature ranging from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius; Tacloban, 26 to 32 degrees Celsius; Iloilo 26 to 32 degrees Celsius; Cagayan de Oro, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
In Mindanao, Zamboanga City would have 25 to 30 degrees Celsius; and 25 to 34 degrees Celsius in Davao City.

Meanwhile, no gale warning is raised on any country’s waters, with the entire country experiencing slight to moderate sea conditions.
