Elderly residents among 18 new COVID-19 cases in Cabanatuan City

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija Eighteen people, including elderly residents with no travel history, had tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in this city on Monday, May 17.

Records from the city health office showed that the elderly patients, involving seven women and two men, are aged 60 to 89. All of them displayed symptoms of the disease, such as cough and fever.

The new infections raised to 303 the city’s active COVID-19 cases out of the 2, 076 infections recorded since last year.

At least 1,707 of these patients had already recovered from the disease while 66 had died.

More new COVID-19 cases were expected to surface as the city government continues to conduct free antigen rapid testing.
