MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The provincial government of Tarlac has decided to maintain its strict policy on the entry of residents from other provinces and cities as well as the liquor ban in its capital city and six towns.
Non-residents wanting to enter the province must still register first through its online travel pass website from May 16 to May 31 based on Resolution No. 5, series of 2021.
The resolution was recommended by the Tarlac provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 and approved by Gov. Susan Yap on May 14
During the same period, the liquor ban is still in effect in Tarlac City and the towns of Bamban, Capas, Camiling, Concepcion, Gerona, and Paniqui, which have higher COVID-19 cases compared to other localities of the province.
The liquor ban prohibits the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places.
In the resolution, Tarlac also specifically ordered the prohibition of “face-to-face cockfights.”
“However, the conduct of cockfighting for the sole purpose of e-sabong licensed and regulated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is allowed,” it added.
The provincial government said all other guidelines as prescribed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of COVID-19 will be implemented in Tarlac.
As of May 15, Tarlac has 1,314 active COVID-19 cases out of the total 5,915 infections recorded since last year. INQ
