LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested a female drug suspect and seized P267,240 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Candelaria town in Quezon province on Thursday night.

Colonel Erickson Dilag, Quezon police chief, said in a report that anti-illegal drug operatives collared Maricel Clemeno, 41, after she sold shabu to a police agent in Barangay Malabanban Sur around 9:30 p.m.

Authorities confiscated 10 sachets of shabu weighing 13.1 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P89,080 and worth P267,240 in the street market.

Police learned of her illegal activities from concerned villagers and reformed drug users in the area, the report said.

The detained suspect is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
