Zambales food company closed after 3 workers get COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales–A food distributing company in Castillejos town was closed after three of its employees contracted SARS Cov2, the highly contagious virus that causes COVID-19, a local health official said on Thursday (May 13).

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the company was locked down since May 8 for contact tracing and disinfection.

He said the company’s human resource specialist and two delivery men were infected with SARS Cov2.

The three were among 13 new cases in the province. The other new patients were workers inside the Subic Bay Freeport.

To date, the province has 1,980 total COVID-19 cases and 176 of these are still active.

At least 1,752 patients in the province had recovered from the disease but 51 had died.
