P272,000 worth of shabu seized in Tondo buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — Shabu (crystal meth) worth P272,000 were confiscated by anti-narcotics operatives after the arrest of two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Tondo, Manila on Monday night.

Authorities identified the suspects as Jenny De Leon, 24 years old, and Ronnie Pingol, 27 years old.

According to the police report, the suspects were arrested following a buy-bust operation along Kamias St. in Barangay 118 Tondo, Manila, where they yielded 15 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substances believed to be shabu weighing 35 to 40 grams, one Chanel brown bag, and a single P500 bill.

Police said the confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of P272,000.

All confiscated items will be submitted to the Manila Police District-Crime Laboratory Department.

The arrested suspects are temporarily detained at PS14 Custodial Facility for booking and documentation.

“Cases for Violation of RA 9165 are being prepared for Inquest proceedings against the arrested suspects before the Office of the City Prosecutor,” authorities said.
