82.14% of qualified NCR Plus residents already given ECQ cash aid – Año
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 82.14% of qualified recipients in the National Capital Region Plus have received their COVID-19 cash aid, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said during the pre-recorded briefing of President Rodrigo Duterte that aired Monday night.
That’s a total 18.82 million of 22.9 million beneficiaries who received P18.82 million of the P22.9 billion allotted by the government for those affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) imposed on the NCR Plus, which is composed of Metro Manila and the adjacent provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna.
Metro Manila residents accounted for the bulk of the cash aid, with over P9.2 billion distributed to 9.2 million beneficiaries.
Qualified individuals are supposed to receive P1,000 each, but each family can only receive a maximum of P4,000.
