Truck falls into ravine in Nueva Vizcaya; driver, 2 pals survive
SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela –– A 16-wheeler trailer truck fell into a 15-meter deep ravine while cruising a sharp and descending curve in Diadi town, Nueva Vizcaya province, police said on Thursday.
Investigators said the driver and his two companions survived the accident after they jumped out of the truck as it rammed a concrete riprap wall before plunging into the ravine in Barangay Balite on Wednesday.
Captain Roderick Rabago, Diadi police chief, said the vehicle’s steering wheel had malfunctioned.
Rabago said the area is prone to accidents and urged drivers to check their cars before driving for their safety. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
