Sinas: I am not fond of any legacy

Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police, has never intended to leave a legacy to the 220,000-strong organization as he just continued his predecessors’ programs.

“Since day one, I already informed [you] that I am not fond of any legacy,” Sinas said during his last press conference at Camp Crame before he retires on May 8, when he reaches the age of 56.

“I cannot think of any legacy. What I could say is we have done our best that answers the challenges of the day,” he said.

But Sinas would be leaving behind some unfinished business involving the nine former Sulu policemen accused in the killing of four Army intelligence officers he set free but remain at large.

Meanwhile, President Duterte has already chosen the next PNP chief and an announcement will be made soon, Malacañang said on Monday. INQ
