Negros Occidental sees COVID-19 deluge: 300 cases in just one day

BACOLOD CITY—The province of Negros Occidental continued to see COVID-19 run roughshod over its health preparations, dumping 308 new cases in just one day on Thursday (April 29).

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, the 308 cases on Thursday was the province’s single-day highest so far.

La Carlota City had the highest number of new cases—60.

Results of tests from the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital confirmed 303 new infections in the province and five in Bacolod City on Thursday alone.

In April, at least 3,752 infections had been confirmed in the province, according to lab test results.
