Meralco suspends disconnections until May 14
The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) said it would suspend the disconnection of services to customers with unpaid bills in line with the extension until May 14 of the modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal. Meralco first vice president Ferdinand O. Geluz said the company hoped the additional extension would help ease the burden of the difficult times on its customers. He also said Meralco would continue vital operations, such as meter readings, as ordered by the Energy Regulatory Commission. —RONNEL W. DOMINGO
