2-M doses of Sinovac vaccines to arrive in PH on April 29, May 7

MANILA, Philippines — An additional 2 million doses of CoronaVac, the COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac BioTech, will arrive in the country on April 29 and May 7, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Wednesday.

Galvez said 500,000 doses of the vaccines will arrive in the country on Thursday, April 29 while another 1.5 million will be delivered on May 7.

“Bukas po made-deliver na naman yung another 500,000 na Sinovac. Bukas po ng 7:45 darating yun Cebu pacific na kumarga ng ating vaccine,” Galvez said.

(Another batch of Sinovacs will be delivered tomorrow. Cebu Pacific will bring our vaccines at around 7:45 [a.m.])

“Steady na yung supply ng Sinovac at sa May 7, 1.5 million ang ibibigay sa atin,” he added.

(Sinovac has a steady supply, and we’re getting 1.5 million on May 7.)

Another 500,000 doses of the vaccine will also be delivered in May but no date has been set yet, said Galvez.

The vaccines that will arrive on April 29 are the second batch of vaccines to arrive in the country this month after the delivery of 500,000 Sinovac vaccine doses on April 11.
