MANILA, Philippines — A woman from Lucena City has sought help from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after her ex-partner allegedly raped their 12-year-old daughter repeatedly and eventually impregnated the girl.

Documents from the NBI’s Lucena District Office released on Friday (April 23) said the girl positively identified her father as the one who raped her and got her pregnant.

The documents cited the girl as saying the abuse started on Sept. 7, 2020 inside the house where she, her father and her father’s new family resided.

The girl, accompanied to the NBI by her mother in filing the complaint, said her father forced her to take a blue, oblong shaped pill after the first rape. The abuse continued for at least 10 more times in September, the girl said in the complaint. The abuse paused only when the girl’s stepmother noticed that the child has not menstruated for over a month, an indication of pregnancy.

But in October 2020, the abuses continued. By March 2021, the child’s grandmother—her father’s mother—noticed the girl’s tummy bulging, which eventually led to a pregnancy test. The test returned positive.

The suspect is currently detained on drug-related charges after he was found in possession of several packets of shabu, or crystal meth.

At least 15 counts of child rape, under the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, had been prepared against the girl’s father.
