138 coronavirus positive passengers intercepted at Naia

/ 04:32 AM April 21, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — At least 138 outbound passengers who tested positive for the new coronavirus have been intercepted at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) terminals since January.

Ed Monreal, general manager of Manila International Airport Authority, lamented that the intercepted passengers might have felt that their coronavirus infection would not be detected.

Monreal said passengers who tested positive for the virus should stay put and practice “responsible traveling.”

“Let us not take chances. The airport security and airline check-in staff will always check on your requirements and the truth will be known in the process, ” he said.
