Businessman killed in front of daughter in Parañaque

An elderly businessman was strangled on Tuesday night in front of his 8-year-old daughter who was unable to cry for help.

According to the police, 62-year-old Wilson Sonny Carcallas was killed inside his house at Green Heights Subdivision in Barangay (village) San Isidro, Parañaque City.

The man accused of killing him was identified as Oliver Damalerio, the victim’s relative, who remains at large.

An initial investigation showed that Damalerio was visiting the victim at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday when they started arguing.

The argument, however, turned into a fight, attracting the attention of the victim’s 8-year-old daughter.

The police said that when the girl went over to where the two men were fighting, she saw Damalerio strangling her father.

They added that she tried to call out for help but Damalerio stopped her by threatening to harm her.

When he ran out of the victim’s house, the girl asked for help from their neighbors who rushed her father to Olivarez General Hospital.

Doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival.

Investigators said they have yet to find out what the two men had fought over.
