COVID-19 kills another man in Olongapo, raises city death toll to 56

OLONGAPO CITY–An elderly man here has died of COVID-19, raising to 56 the city’s tally of fatalities as of Sunday (April 18).

In a statement, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the 64-year-old patient was taken to a hospital here where he was declared dead on arrival.

But Paulino did not indicate what health-related complications the man, a resident of Barangay New Cabalan, had suffered.

The city has also recorded 13 new COVID-19 cases that were traced to 10 of its 17 villages. These patients are aged 27-61.

So far, there are 157 active infections in the city. Since last year, it already registered 1,329 COVID-19 cases.

Over 1,100 of these patients had already recovered from the disease.
