La Union town councilor, pal killed in motorcycle crash

BAGUIO CITY –– A municipal council member and his companion died after their motorcycle crashed onto a steel post in Bangar town, La Union province on Sunday, April 18, police said.

Suipen town Councilor Edwin Belisoa Jr., 25, and Ronald Lipurada, 26, a laborer were heading north when Belisoa lost control of the motorcycle before slamming against a signage steel post along the highway in Barangay San Blas around 11:15 p.m.

The impact threw the duo off the motorcycle. Both suffered multiple injuries and were rushed to the Balaoan District Hospital in Balaoan town, also in La Union.

Lipurada was declared dead on arrival while Belisoa died while being treated.

The two were reportedly heading home after attending a wake when they figured in the accident.
