Olongapo logs 20 more new COVID-19 cases

OLONGAPO CITY–The city on Saturday, April 17, recorded 20 more cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that reside in eight of its 17 villages, officials said.

In an advisory, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the new cases are aged 14-80 and most of them had been exposed to virus-infected household members.

Almost all of them developed COVID-19 symptoms, such as cold, fever, cough, and lack of appetite.

The elderly patients have existing ailments that include hypertension and diabetes.

As of Saturday, the fresh cases raised to 147 the number of active infections in the city.

Since last year, it has already recorded a total of 1,316 COVID-19 cases. Of this figure, 1,114 had recovered while 55 had died from the disease. INQ
